Repercussion is one of the artist's ongoing projects since 2015. The first series of repercussion contains 4 pieces, showcasing the scenery from Savannah, Georgia while the artist was completing her last quarter as an undergraduate; and the second series is dedicated to show 6 counties that Man went traveling Europe by the time she was under the artist in residence based in Madrid, Spain. The first series of Repercussion is designed to display on pedestals as square form; the second series is displayed in rhombus formal hanging on the wall to mimic the traditional Asian window frame.
Repercussion shed light on the relationship between landscape and inhabitants, forgoing a bridge from conventional oil painting to contemporary digital-age painting. The artist believes these elements are the most essential portions of how the society is composed. This series of oil paintings rendered on transparent surfaces in order to directly response to the surrounding with the integration of both front and back light sources. When illuminated, light bounces back and forth, obscuring the painterly blurry atmosphere in a way from impression to abstraction. Sunshine and good weather with natural light source certainly caused great impact to the artist herself; with flora set up around the entire space, and the historic architecture surrounds each other as if they echo, Repercussion is intended to embrace all these intriguing elements into its frame, to keep and secure the memories, and to work like a transparent Pandora box that will never reveal again.
